Operation Christmas Child – Shoeboxes of Love
We are excited to partner with Samaritan’s Purse in packing shoeboxes for children in need through Operation Christmas Child.
This is a wonderful hands-on way to share God’s love by filling shoeboxes with PERSONAL CARE ITEMS, SCHOOL SUPPLIES, CLOTHING & ACCESSORIES, CRAFTS & ACTIVITIES and TOYS. Each shoebox becomes an opportunity for children around the world to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ. Since 1993, more than 232 million children in over 100 countries have received shoebox gifts—often their very first gift ever.
Last year, New Zealand and Australia sent over 211,000 shoeboxes to Cambodia, the Philippines, Fiji, the Solomon Islands, and Ukraine. Globally, more than 11.9 million shoeboxes were distributed.
You can be part of this mission by donating items for shoeboxes. For the next 5 weeks we will be collecting 1 category of item a week. (Please only donate brand new items as requested by Samaritan Purse)
We will gather together to pack them on Sunday, 19 October, after the Sunday service.
